Summer Class placement and teacher approval classes 

Please note that current students do not promote class levels until the next school year session.

For NEW students needing to do placement for a teacher approval class for the summer session, they will come to a placement class during the first week of summer classes. The cost for each class is $19 and will be applied to the student’s account if they register for the class in that dance genre. To do a placement class the first week of summer classes, request the class online through your Danceworks account and our Studio Director will follow up with an email to confirm.

CURRENT students will need to do a placement class if they were not in that genre of dance the year prior and want to be considered for a teacher approval class. Email the Studio Director at info@turningpointeschoolofdance.com to schedule a placement class during the first week of summer classes. A confirmation email will be sent by our Studio Director once class placement is determined.

Fall CLASS placement AND EVALUATIONS

For students ages 8+ who are new to Turning Pointe, we will have a level placement date over the summer. The cost for each class is $19 and will be applied to the student’s account if they register for the class in that dance genre. Students must have teacher approval through placement class for any class that has star by it on the schedule.

Monday, July 29 : Fall Placement Date
First week of classes: Additional Fall Placement for NEW TP students

If you are not able to come to one of these dates or are registering after the placement day, our studio director will work with you to find an age appropriate class as a placement class in September. Students ages 9 and up with 1 year or less of ballet experience, will enroll in a beginning ballet class and no placement class is needed. Please check in with our Studio Director at info@turningpointeschoolofdance.com  to set up a placement class and the teacher will also be notified.

Current Turning Pointe students Level 1 and above will receive an evaluation from their teacher in May for their level placement for the upcoming school year. If a teacher requests for the student to be re-evaluated after summer classes, those students may come to the Placement Class. If a student would like to register for a class that is marked 'teacher approval', our Studio Director will handle looking up their placement level on file or get approval from the appropriate teachers. A confirmation email will be sent once class placement is determined.
