Mission
The Turning Pointe Dance Teacher’s Assistant and Internship Program exists to train future leaders to provide basic classroom assistance to teachers and studio management as they serve, observe, and are examples to younger students.
Applications
Online Applications are due June 19th, 2026. Students also need to sign up by June 19th for an interview as part of the selection process.

Teacher Assistants
Requirements
13 years or older
Reliable transportation
Taking minimum of 1 TPD class
Have been a student at TPD for a minimum of 1 year
Time Commitment
TA minimum 1 class per week

October 1 on 1 meeting with director or assistant director
Outreach participation (Operation Christmas Child)
Christmas Party (optional)
February Meeting
Volunteer at a TP event
End of Year Party (optional)
Recital for TA class
Volunteer at additional recital
Interns
Requirements
Sophomore, junior or senior in HS
Preference of 2 years TA experience
Come highly recommended by TPD staff
Time Commitment
TA minimum 3 classes per week
1 hour per week studio work (once a month all interns together - other times can be individual)
Monthly meeting with all Interns and director or assistant director
