Has your dancer ever wondered what role dance will play in their life as they enter middle school, high school, and beyond? Have they ever wondered how to balance school, dance, and other activities? Have they ever thought about dancing in college, for a company, or being a dance teacher?
Join Ms. Tina at the studio November 30th 6:30-7:45pm for a special Pathways in Dance presentation and learn more about your dancer's path in the years ahead. This is geared towards dancer's 5th grade and up. Cookies and hot chocolate will be provided! Bring a notebook!
The Prince is an original, faith-based adaptation of Tchaikovsky’s holiday classic The Nutcracker. Created by Katha Morrill, The Prince has been performed annually for more than 20 years, and will be performed in full for the first time in Colorado this year by Fidèle Youth Dance Company.
ACT 1
Following The Nutcracker’s original structure, Act 1 shows a family’s preparation and Christmas Party, followed by Clara and Fritz’s dreams of battles between soldiers and mice. In The Prince, Clara’s Nutcracker Prince sacrifices His life for her and for Fritz, just as Jesus did to save His children. Clara and Fritz are then taken to the Nativity to reveal the true meaning of Christmas before the Prince is resurrected in a magical dream and snow scene. Act 1 concludes with Clara and Fritz being escorted to Heaven with the Prince, where they sit beside God’s throne to see their annual holiday party from a heavenly perspective.
ACT 2
Act 2 also follows The Nutcracker’s formula and features solo and small group performances set to Tchaikovsky’s classic soundtrack. Each family from Act 1’s party scene is now depicted with a sinful spirit, as we see that Satan was the reason for the previous scene’s turmoil among characters. Act 2 concludes with deliverance from sins and a harmonious waltz before the Prince returns to the right hand of Drossylmeyer (God), and the children wake from their dream soundly at home, safely under the eye and protection of God and the Holy Spirit, still watching over them in Heaven.

Company auditions are held each spring with two possible dates to attend. Dancers and actors who wish to audition need only attend one date.
Each audition includes a group class consisting of barre, center work and acting/modern dance exercises. Dancers should dress as they would for a classical ballet class.
Students age 14+ must perform a prepared classical, contemporary or modern variation during the audition process. There will be a $10 audition fee, which will cover registration and class costs. All dancers must complete a registration form and provide a head shot and first arabesque photo prior to auditioning.
Students who are auditioning for the Acting Company do not need to attend the dance class or provide an arabesque photo, but will be required to provide a head shot, the $10 audition fee, and an audition form with all prior performance experience listed as thoroughly as possible.
Please note, if you have been a member of the company in a prior season, a head shot, variation and arabesque photo are not required.
If a dancer is interested in joining the company but is unable to attend either of the audition dates for that season, please contact fideleyouthdancecompany@gmail.com to make alternate arrangements.
Join us as we welcome broadway performers from the show Aladdin to our studio for broadway dance workshops! This is a unique opportunity and one not to be missed! Space is limited so register here
For students ages 10 and up who have had 2 or more consecutive years of ballet. Studying ballet takes repetition, drive, and commitment. At Turning Pointe we provide unique pre-collegiate Classical Ballet training for students in a Christian environment and encourage students to train their bodies and spirits for the glory of God. In this division, dancers are required to come to ballet technique 3 times and week and choose a non- ballet elective (contemporary jazz, worship, modern, etc). Moving up to the next level is based on ability, not age. A placement class is required to audition for this program.
Auditions are March 23rd 4:00-5:15pm and May 23rd 5:00-6:15pm
